QR Code on membership card which validates the membership plan when scanned

To validate a membership and to be able to issue physical membership cards, it would be great to have the ability to have a QR code generated for each member. This should contain a link which just validates the member name and plan. This would allow easy scanning of membership card to validate the membership.
The fields displayed should be configurable to cater for different scenarios should people need to expose more information with the QR code URL.
